This Weeks Happenings…

May 11, 2010

I love it when a plan comes together!

I’ve had quite a busy week this week. I’ve not been able to get as much gaming in as I’d hoped, but it’s been quite an interesting week to say the least.
It’s been quite a catch up week in terms of playing through a few older games and getting round to playing online with a few friends on several games.

I got chance to have a little play around with my camera and posted The Street Fighter – Fight Pad video. I’ve have had some great feedback from several people too which is great.

Thanks guys & gals!

Hopefully I’ll get round to using it a little more.

Anyway…

This week I met an 80s legend!

A-Teams very own Face, (Dirk Benedict).

It was great to finally meet someone I watched so much on Tv whilst growing up!

He also played Starbuck in the original series of Battlestar Galactica, which I watched so much as a kid and love the new series too.

He’s such an awesome guy in real-life and he was kind enough to take time out from playing Columbo at a theatre in Blackpool, to do a signing for around 200 fans.

Anyway, back to gaming stuff…

The 80s were AWESOME! Enough said…

This week I picked up a copy of Lips: I Love the 80s & Lips: Party Classics. Both were on sale at GAME for £12.98.

That’s more or less half the price of the RRP. Which is fantasitic considering both have only been out for a couple of weeks.

They also had the Wireless Microphone Bundles for £19.99 which are great to use with Rock Band too, so if you haven’t already got a pair I highly recommend you should get them while they’re so cheap. Currently they’re around £19.99-£24.99 just for one of the mics separately.

There’s nothing more fun than a few drinks and shoving on some Lips!

Borderlands: Island of Dr. NED.

I booted up Borderlands this week with a couple of friends and we decided to play through The Island of Dr. NED.

It takes you to a spooky, kooky, Scooby Doo-esque island where zombies roam freely.

It doesn’t add much in terms of new loot or raise the level cap, but what you get is a fresh extra few hours of play.

There’s a new Halloween themed story that’s being told by Marcus, (who told the story of Vault Dwellers in the main game).
This time he’s talking with a child that asks him various questions which can lead to several funny moments as he gets interrupted and corrected.

It adds several quests which are all a mix of the usual: Find someone dead, kill a certain beast in some area and the some ‘Scavenge the loot’ missions which make you search to find the last piece of the puzzles.

It’s as close as we’ll ever get to Borderlands 4 Dead!

There’s several new enemies and not just the land crawling with zombies, but other creatures like ‘SkeleRakk’, ‘WhereSkags’ and ‘Tankensteins’ to name a few, all with there own characteristics and attacks.

I think my favorite part is the whole landscape & art style. It feels like a theme park ride and blends the perfect colours & lighting effects.

Overall a fantastic addition to what was already a great game and a definite purchase to anyone who likes Borderlands.

I finally purchased a copy of Halo3: Recon ODST recently and have fired it up for the Halo: Reach Beta.

I should get chance at a chance to post a few of my thoughts on it sometime this week.

My first impression so far is that its more Halo with added ‘Umpf!’

That’s about all I’ve been up to this week really. Although I’m looking forward to getting a copy of Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption in the coming weeks.
Fingers crossed I can put some cash aside for them.

So this week I’m hoping to get more wrote up on here, like my thoughts on the Fight Pad, maybe a little more on SSFIV and try and figure out getting some more videos on here too.

Oh and why your here…

There’s a new Dreamcast Blog just gone Live which seems to have some great intentions. It’s about keeping an extensive archive about the Dreamcast in great detail. It’s going to have loads of reviews and information, with pictures of all the packaging and things like Multi-Regional versions of games etc…

You should go check it out! : Dreamcast Channel

So that’s it for This Weeks Happenings!

Any thoughts and suggestions would be a great help too!

TF2 Sniper/Spy Update – Day 5 & 6

May 20, 2009

TF2Spy

Put Two Wheels on this thing and it’s a Cannon!

Today’s a double post to make up for my absence yesterday.

First up, Spy is holding a new weapon! It’s called ‘The Ambassador’ and it’s powerful revolver.

There are two sorts of men in this world: the sort with blood pouring out of a hole in their heads, and the sort holding the Ambassador. It has the ammo count of a revolver and the pinpoint accuracy of a sniper rifle, even at long range. (But remember, a gun that packs this much heat needs to cool off between shots, so make every shot count.)

With its rosewood grip and likeness of your enemy’s mother (please send photo) engraved on the barrel, the Ambassador is eight motherloving pounds of steel your enemies won’t want to negotiate with.

Valve have also released the achievement list for the new update, and soon to be announced is what you’ll have to do in order to obtain them.

Valve have also ‘Officially’ released Meet the Spy Video which was accidentally added to youtube early the other day.

Valve have also told us how it accidentally appeared in way of an achievement.

Valves Achivement

Valve are defiantly the best Developers who can really laugh at them selves for mistakes! Most other companies would deny its existence!

The new Sniper/Spy update will be released Sometime this week.

He is Deadly. Handsome, that is. But Mostly Deadly…

Meet The Spy

May 17, 2009

Spy

Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert! Spy is in the Base!

This morning sees that The Spy has leaked this video onto the Internet before it was due out. Some say it was on Valve’s Youtube page, but was quickly taken down.

So is this some Spy Trickery?

Who knows!

But this video is the best ‘Meet The…’ Video so far!

The Medic and the Pyro are the only videos left to be touched, will they be any better?

Only time will tell, but if the Scout’s Mum is the Pyro? I’m sure it they could do something!

I wish they’d make a movie!

Although the Team Fortress Comics that are coming will have to do for now!

The Spy/Sniper Update is due to be released sometime next week.

So listen up boy, or pornography starring your mother will be the second worst thing that happens to you today.

TF2 Sniper Update – Day 4

May 16, 2009

TF2 SPY

Reports of Your Death will be Greatly Exaggerated!

Today’s Sniper update has been Infiltrated by The SPY!

He’s taken over The Snipers patch and has a few new items that he’s ordered from the Catalogue for the Gentleman Rogue.

A Dead Ringer Spy Watch: This is a device designed to create a ‘feign death’ move. As soon as the Spy gets hit, he cloaks for up to eight seconds, while a fake corpse collapses to the ground, confusing the enemy to thinking he’s just got a kill.

Cloak & Dagger Spy Watch: A regenerating cloaking device. Stand still and it will refill your power gauge, it’ll only start draining when you move.

The Spy’s new Items along with the Sniper’s updates are expected to go live on Tuesday. More info to come soon!

TF2 Sniper Update – Day 3

May 15, 2009

Sniper Shield

Watch Your Back. Or Don’t! Now it’s YOUR Choice.

Today’s latest post for Team Fortress 2 Sniper Update shows off a new Unlockable. A new shield known as The Razorback, to defend against Spy’s stabbing you in the back whilst you snipe!

It will shock the enemy Spy with a 10,000 Volt charge, and if he survives, he’ll have to wait a few seconds for his knife to cool down to use it again.

The Razorback:

The Razorback is a beautiful hand-carved tribal shield, built using indigenous techniques passed from father to son since before recorded time. Sometimes the old ways really are the best ways. And after using the Razorback in the field, we quickly discovered this was not one of those times.

All the tribal craftsmanship in the world, it turns out, cannot stop a modern butter knife. So we taped a car battery to it. Sure, the added weight of the redesigned Razorback’ll slow you down a little. But any poor sap dumb enough to backstab you while you’re sporting one is getting a surprise to the tune of 10,000 volts. Plus, if they want to stab you again, they’ll have to wait until their knife cools down. Which is lucky for you, since the Razorback collapses into a million finely crafted pieces after a single stab.

The update will be released Soon. More Updates to come!
